  3. FileMonitor version 1.0 (Windows 95/NT)

  6. FileMonitor is a program which allows users to monitor
  7. selected directories and/or groups of files. FileMonitor
  8. runs as an icon in the Windows System Tray. It periodically
  9. checks the status of the selected objects and notifies
  10. the user if any changes are detected. FileMonitor checks
  11. for NEW files, DELETED files, and CHANGED files.

  13. FileMonitor is most useful in an office environment where
  14. documents are shared through a common location. Each user
  15. can monitor the directory and be notified of relevant
  16. events.

  19. Installation
  20. ------------
  21. To install FileMonitor, run the included SETUP.EXE program.
  22. The setup will install several shared files in your Windows
  23. System directory. These are common files distributed by
  24. Microsoft. The FileMonitor.exe (54k) will be installed to a
  25. user specified directory. A shortcut to FileMonitor will
  26. be added to your Start Menu.

  28. You may wish to copy the FileMonitor shortcut to your
  29. Startup folder.

  32. Use and Distribution
  33. --------------------
  34. This program is SHAREWARE. You are granted the right to use it 
  35. for 30 days. The program is fully functional and will not disable 
  36. or change its functionality in any way. However, if you use it 
  37. for longer than 30 days without payment, you are violating the 
  38. license.

  40. You may freely distribute the program AS IS with all included 
  41. files. You may not modify the program or any of the included files.
